Amboseli 2026: In Search of Big Tuskers

The "up-and-coming-big-tusker" known as X001 crosses Amboseli's lakebed in front of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro

In early September I was fortunate enough to visit Amboseli National Park and Elephant Garden Conservancy in Kenya, world renowned for the resident elephants. This was a very focused safari, with only two goals: finding and photographing the elusive Big Tuskers, and photographing elephant families crossing the Amboseli dry lakebed. The trip was an incredible success and we saw eight different Tuskers, and several elephant families crossing the lakebed.
