The Eagle Nebula (M16)

« PreviousBack to Astrophotography GalleryNext »

The Eagle Nebula (M16) is located in the constellation Serpens, just 'above' Sagittarius. This nebula includes the iconic 'Pillars of Creation' made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope. The pillars are just visible within the nebula at the upper left--clearly without the detail provided by Hubble! In the lower right is the open cluster Trumpler 32
